How to Quit Smoking
Have you thought about hypnosis, acupuncture or therapy? While you may be skeptical about these techniques, they may help you stay motivated to quit. Hypnosis works by putting you into a deeply relaxed state — which may open you up to the suggestion of ideas that may strengthen your choice to quit and increase your negative feelings towards cigarettes. Acupuncture triggers the release of endorphins, which may allow the body to relax and manage withdrawal symptoms. Because smoking is a habitual behavior, behavioral therapy may also help you learn new coping skills.
