Health Benefits of Running

Running Sharpens an Aging Body and Mind

For many people, a longer life is only worthwhile if their mental and physical health remains strong. Beyond increasing longevity, aerobic activities like running have been directly linked to a reduction in age-related mental and physical decline. Aging and age-related conditions like RA can have an impact on mobility, balance and bone density. Thankfully, running helps maintain balance and bone density, which reduces the risk of falling and helps maintain independence. Research also has found that older adults who participate in regular aerobic exercise consistently scored better on mental tests than their inactive peers.
