Childproofing Your Home

9) Install a Barrier for Pools and Spas

To properly safeguard the pool or spa, install a barrier that encloses the entire thing. The fence should be tall enough to avoid young children from crossing it easily. Make sure the barrier contains a self-closing and self-latching gate. If the house serves as one side of the barrier — so a child could easily gain access to the pool — another safety measure, such as an alarm, must be incorporated.

These are just a few ways to childproof your home. For more information, speak with your pediatrician.
