Breathing Troubles: Common Causes and Triggers

When to see a Doctor

There are so many factors influencing your respiratory system that it might be difficult to know when to visit your doctor. If something feels wrong, it is best to err on the side of caution by scheduling a doctor’s appointment. Short-term respiratory issues may come and go depending on the time of year, allergy levels, amount of physical exertion or minor colds. Seek medical attention if you have been experiencing minor but lasting respiratory issues, sudden and severe shortness of breath, or respiratory issues accompanied by secondary symptoms like chest pain or swelling of the feet.
