Serpalan is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. Serpalan belongs to a group of drugs called rauwolfia alkaloids. These work by slowing the activity of the nervous system, resulting in decreased heart rate and lowering of blood pressure.
This medication comes in an oral (by mouth) tablet and is usually taken once daily, with or without food.
Common side effects of Serpalan include vomiting, diarrhea, and headache.
Serpalan can also cause drowsiness and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how Serpalan affects you.
