Integrilin is a prescription medication used to decrease the rate of death or new heart attack in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). It is also used to reduce the need for urgent intervention in patients undergoing a procedure called a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Integrilin belongs to a group of drugs called glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors. These work by preventing blood clots from forming in the body that may cause a coronary event such as a heart attack. 

This medication is available in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects of Integrilin include bleeding and decreased blood pressure.

Uses of Integrilin

Integrilin is a prescription medication used to decrease the rate of death and new heart attack in patients with acute coronary syndromes. Acute coronary syndromes are conditions where there is sudden, decreased blood flow to the heart.

Integrilin is also given to reduce the need for urgent intervention in patients undergoing a procedure called a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), a procedure done to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels that supply blood to the heart.
