AtroPen Overview
AtroPen is a prescription medication used to treat nerve agent or insecticide poisoning. AtroPen belongs to a group of drugs called anticholinergic agents. These agents work by inhibiting the activity of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter in the nervous system.
This medication is available in an injectable form to be given directly into the muscle (IM) by a healthcare professional.
Common side effects of AtroPen include injection site pain, confusion, increased heart rate, dry mouth and constipation.
AtroPen can also cause blurred vision and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
